Coach
Meet our puglet - Coach! got him about a month ago and the family is in love with him. He has the most gentle temperament and loves being baby'ed. It's nice having a dog again - our last one was put to sleep 3 years ago as she was sick. It was very hard saying goodbye to her but Coach has filled the void completely. He loves playing and the house is littered with his toys - just as if we had a newborn child. Loves sleeping in our arms and snores very loudly. What do they say.........once a dog lover always a dog lover.

It's complicated
What a delightful movie twas! Enjoyed watching the lovely Meryl Streep, Alex Baldwin and Steve Martin. But most of all I loved the hacienda style house that Meryl Streep lived in - the decor was absolutely something I would want in my home...every room was tastefully decorated from the cozy living room to the bedroom to the kitchen....I'm buying the DVD and plan to freeze frame and study every room even more. Please tell me there are others like me!

Painting a day
I am a huge fan of impressionistic artwork and am constantly trying to get a 'looser' feel / look to my paintings. Some of my favorite artists who excel at this style are Victor Wang and Karin Jurick. Some of the daily painters attempt to complete a painting a day. Last year that is something I pledged however very hard to stick to so this year I have made the resolution to :
1. Sketch everyday
2. Paint more often
This seems more achievable to me.
Do check the above artists out...there is so much I learned from studying their works.

Its a wrap!
Every year we get more excited about wrapping the presents than the actual shopping. So this year we used old maps to wrap the prezzies and topped them off with black ribbon (purchased from good old Value Village for a few cents) and metal rimmed tags clipped on with mini clothes pegs. I don't think the kids 'got it' but we sure did! Very pleased with the way they turned out. Now we have so many maps that we are contemplating making this our signature 'wrap' !

2010 Happy New Year
2010 has arrived. And we felt 2009 went in a blink. But this year is when we plan to embark on the printing endeavour. With D's technical knowledge and my art we hope to put together some samples this month.
We are feeling very encouraged - watched the 'speedball' video together last night along with kids and now they are excited about trying it out too. Went looking for gateway paper but neither Staples nor Michaels had it so we will try the regular tracing paper.
